Vicki Kerr (June-August 2009)
Vicki Kerr reconstructs parts of found photographs by transforming them into objects, using a variety of modelling materials. In the process of translating and reconstructing these images she has established her own entry and exit points, in order to create new works which suggest nostalgia’s distillation of the facts from the scene.
Vicki’s practice is currently engaged with addressing the debate surrounding ecology and conflict; particularly in the way issues associated with these subjects are translated by the media. She is very experimental with material processes and welcomes the exchange of ideas with students and other art professionals in sharing the knowledge she has accumulated in her research.
