A note from Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru:
Along with our co-producers, Sherman Theatre, we have taken the difficult decision to cancel the tour of Daf James’s Tylwyth.
Given the current situation surrounding COVID-19 (Coronavirus), we have decided to cancel the remaining performances in order to safeguard our audiences, staff, actors and production team.
If you have tickets to see Tylwyth during the tour, please contact the ticket office at your local theatre to claim your refund.
We’ve been overwhelmed by the incredible response to the world premiere performances at Sherman Theatre, Cardiff, last week. We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in bringing this production to the stage – to the cast, the creative team, the production team – and to the audiences for their enthusiasm and support. Our ambition is to present Tylwyth again in the future.
A Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru and Sherman Theatre production
by Daf James
Aneurin has been running away from his past, but – thanks to Grindr – he unexpectedly finds love. When he and Dan decide to adopt, it seems their world is complete. But as he adjusts to being a dad and tries to move on from his reckless past, Aneurin is forced to confront his demons.
Ten years on from the trail-blazing and award-winning Llwyth, Aneurin, Rhys, Gareth and Dada are back in this witty and compelling new play by Daf James. Taking an irreverent look at love, family and friendship, Tylwyth is a provocative commentary on contemporary Welsh life.
Age Guidance: 16+
Contains strong language, scenes of a sexual nature and adult themes.
In each performance, Sibrwd – Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru’s language access app – will be available to guide the audience through the story by means of a voice in the ear, whatever their level of fluency in Welsh. Speak to the team on the night for more information.
There will be a pre-show talk for Welsh learners at 6:30pm on 20th March.
