Company: Cwmni Theatr Arad Goch a Chanolfan Mileniwm Cymru
Featuring fiery performances from 11 young actors, cutting edge scriptwriting and iconic choreography based on the brilliant songs of the Welsh-language band ‘Bromas’, the production promises to be a highlight of the Welsh arts calendar during its visit to venues throughout Wales.
Jeremy Turner, Arad Goch’s Artistic Director and Cysgu’n Brysur’s Director describes the production as a contemporary Welsh-language show about being young in Wales the 21st Century:
“It’s about the affairs and the flirting, the angst, the gangs and the wild parties in the forest. It dramatizes the morals and immoralities of being young, the frustrations with adults and the fears and the dreams of young people” he said, adding that “there are very few, if any, productions on the scale and of this nature for young Welsh audiences”.
‘Cysgu’n Brysur’ is co-produced by Arad Goch, Wales Millennium Centre and Aberystwyth Arts Centre. Louise Miles-Crust, Head of Programming at Wales Millennium Centre, commented: “We’re thrilled to be working with Arad Goch on this project. They have an excellent reputation of producing high quality work and our organisations share similar ambitions. These include creating ‘Made in Wales’ theatre, promoting Welsh language and culture, and nurturing young Welsh talent - all key components of Cysgu’n Brysur”.
