WORLD PREMIERE EVENT at ABERYSTWYTH ARTS CENTRE
Harri Gwynn’s Centenary Celebrated with performance of “dark and disturbing” poem.
Overshadowed by RS Thomas, about to be engulfed by Dylan Thomas, it’s a difficult time for Welsh poet, HARRI GWYNN to celebrate his centenary. (Harri Gwynn was born 1913, died 1985.)
But at 7.45pm, WEDNESDAY night, OCTOBER 30, this Welsh language poet and short story writer, receives acknowledgement, when his long poem, ‘Y Creadur’, and its translation as ‘The Creature’, are performed at The Studio, Aberystwyth Arts Centre.
‘Y Creadur’ will be performed by National Eisteddfod chair-winner Twm Morys, who describes Harri Gwynn as having a place on his “hero list”.
‘The Creature’ will be read by translator, Robert Minhinnick, himself a poet and short story writer.
