Heather Phillipson (September-November 2010)

Heather works primarily with the moving image. A trained musician with a parallel practice in poetry, Phillipson uses conjunctions and disjunctions of image, sound, language and performance to undermine prescribed associations. Referencing cinema, literature and music, she transposes compositional and literary structures into visual devices to create tensions between meaning and non-meaning, seriousness and absurdity.
