(Naziha Arebi, UK/Libya 2018, 97 minutes, subtitles)
Football, feminism and revolution are the subjects of this extraordinary documentary, shot over the course of five years following the Arab Spring. The Libyan women's football team is made up of a diverse group - the captain is a petro-physicist, one of the players' family is displaced and the goalkeeper is training to become a doctor. As the country descends into civil war their hopes of attending international tournaments fade, but the team is determined to play, no matter what. A captivating love letter to sisterhood, team spirit and the young women determined to live their dreams.
