A Surrealist Salon Sélavy Production, part of the ‘Extracts from the Journals of Rose Sélavy' series.

Enter an inner world of vibrant colour and subtle emotional tonalities. In this multimedia performance of music, dance, spoken word and photographic images, the audience is invited on a journey from isolation, through social connection to oceanic feeling.

As human beings, we reach out to each other. We connect inways that resemble neurons in the brain - branch-like dendrites take in a spark from others,which is then transformed and transmitted onward through the axon. The patterns we make with other people form a complex and beautiful network that transcends our individual selves.

The performers explore these themes using cross-modal improvisation in which musicians and dancers respond to each other mutually. The performance draws upon awide range of traditions, including jazz, eastern rhythms, experimental music, contact improvisation, modern dance and surrealist games.
