Miranda Whall's artworks draw in the viewer with an enticing familiar sound or image - seductive whispers, beautiful, delicate imagery; only to turn expectations upside down. She creates fictional situations in which to explore aspects of life and female identity, questioning social rules and expectations.
Her expression intentionally appears misplaced, awkward or inappropriate; and her simultaneously idiosyncratic and universal ideas of self are explored in ironic relation to art-historical, technological, pastoral, and Romantic imagery.
Mae gweithiau celf Miranda Whall yn denu'r gwyliwr gyda sŵn neu ddelwedd gyfarwydd - sibrydion hudolus, delweddau prydferth, cywrain; dim ond i droi disgwyliadau wyneb i waered.
