The Wilders
Everyone’s Wild About The Wilders! Renowned as the ‘hillbilly hurricane’, The Wilders in full, unstoppable flight have become Edinburgh Fringe favourites. Triumphant winners of a Herald Angel with a five-star review, The Scotsman said: ‘They generate the kind of tunes that should by rights leave vapour trails’. The Kansas City, Missouri, four-piece play storming roots-of-country and white hot old-time. They deliver a blistering fiddle/banjo/guitar/dobro/slap bass hoedown, led by singer/guitarist and wisecracker, Ike Sheldon, resurrecting 1940's and 50's honky-tonk heroes like Hank Williams and Lefty Frizzell. Their standing-room-only appearance at Glasgow’s Celtic Connections was a highlight of the BBC 2 TV coverage and this visit includes main stage appearances at the Hebridean Celtic Festival in Stornoway.
