Christy Moore & Declan Sinnott
Legendary Irish folk singer songwriter and bodram player Christy Moore has announced two Welsh dates to round off 2008's highly anticipated autumn tour.
Undoubtedly one of the best songwriters Ireland has ever produced, Christy has been dubbed as 'Truly the Bob Dylan of Irish music'. His influence and stature in folk music is unparalleled with Bono, Elvis Costello, the Pogues and Billy Bragg amongst those who cite him as a key influence.
A successful recording career spanning over 35 years has kept Christy at the forefront of Irish folk music.
Known as founder of 70s classic folk band Planxty, and occasional member of folk 'supergroup' Moving Hearts in the 80s, Christy's songwriting has been noted for adding elements of rock and popular music to well crafted traditional tunes.
Infamous for making music founded with political and social commentary, an extensive back catalogue of band and solo work charts the emotive personal and political issues that have shaped Christy's life.
Playing live with one of Ireland's most gifted musicians Declan Sinnott, expect a subtle and poignant performance, perforated with humour and banter.
