Gathered World

A group exhibition that explores the significance of functional domestic objects in human lives beyond their original purpose, examining their emotional and evocative potential as conduits for memory, nostalgia and narrative. Artefacts from the Ceredigion MuseumCollection, Aberystwyth University Ceramic Collection and from participating artists’ personal possessions will be exhibited alongside original artworks to develop this theme. Artists include: Claire Curneen, Conor Wilson, Anne Gibbs, Peter Bodenham, Ingrid Murphy, Andy Griffiths, Catherine Fairgrieve, David Fitzjohn, Erica Evans, Paul Roche, Kerry Harker, Zoe Childerley and Robert Harding amongst others.

Mae ‘Gathered World’ yn arddangosfa sy’n archwilio arwyddocâd eitemau ymarferol bob dydd o fewn y bywyd dynol, y tu hwnt i’w pwrpas gwreiddiol, yn edrych ar eu potensial emosiynol ac atgofus fel sianeli ar gyfer cof, hiraeth a naratif. Arddangosir arteffactau o Gasgliad Amgueddfa Ceredigion, Casgliad Serameg Prifysgol Aberystwyth ac o gasgliadau personol yr artistiaid sy’n cymryd rhan, ochr yn ochr â gweithiau celf gwreiddiol ermwyn datblygu’r thema hon.
