Association of Illustrators

The Association of Illustrators was established in 1973 to advance and protect illustrator's rights and to encourage professional standards. The organisation has been through many changes since then but one of their most successful ventures remains this annual exhibition and award giving, with accompanying ‘telephone directory' sized reference book,  which serves both to celebrate the very best of British design and illustration, and to function as a reference for businesses seeking artists. For the public this is a rare chance to see the original artworks for a wide range of products - from book jackets and illustration to magazine advertising.  The ingenuity imagination and wide ranging skill displayed in the works encourages a better appreciation of this industry which is so central to our everyday lives.

Sefydlwyd Cymdeithas y Darlunwyr ym 1973 i hybu ac i amddiffyn hawliau darlunwyr ac i annog safonau proffesiynol. Cafwyd llawer o newidiadau ers hynny ond un o fentrau mwyaf llwyddiannus y Gymdeithas yw'r arddangosfa a'r gwobrwyo blynyddol sy'n dathlu'r gorau oll ym myd dylunio a darlunio ym Mhrydain, ac sy'n fan cychwyn i fusnesau sy'n edrych am artistiaid. I'r cyhoedd dyma gyfle prin i weld y gwaith celf gwreiddiol sy'n gysylltiedig ag amrediad eang o gynnyrch - o gloriau llyfrau i hysbysebu mewn cylchgronau. Mae'r dychymyg a'r doniau a welir yn y darnau o waith yn annog gwell werthfawrogiad o'r diwydiant pwysig hwn.
