Eddie Ladd

Eddie Ladd presents Cof y Corff / Muscle Memory

Friday Performance in English / Saturday performance in Welsh

The piece deals with themes of colonialism and the survival of small nations. Its an essay on foot that has the performer trying to reconnect with Welsh history through dance and movement analysis. Featuring an original soundtrack, and an essay text delivered live, Cof y Corff / Muscle Memory moves through time from 1256 through to the present day and, inescapably, much of it is to do with the Britishing of Wales. It is an attempt by the performer to understand and embrace a culture that its people have been compelled to forget.

Free post show discussion after Friday performance. Professional development workshop available - call 01970 621512 for details.

Originally commissied by ROH2 at the Royal Opera House, produced by mes:a International Performance Collective with support from Diversions and assistance from Chapter. The Wales tour is supported by funding from Arts Council Wales.
