Jennifer Pike was the youngest ever winner of BBC Young Musician of the Year and now, in her late teens, is widely regarded as one of Britain’s finest young violinists. To mark the Mendelssohn bi-centenary, she tours with his Violin Concerto - one of the greatest and best-loved of all concertos, filled with pathos, serenity and joy. Alongside it are Britten’s Soirées Musicales, based on Rossini’s music and Shostakovich’s sparkling, witty Ninth Symphony.
