Price: £60.00 to £69.00
Tutor: Becky Knight
This class concentrates on screen-printing onto fabric using non-toxic water-based inks. No experience necessary. Printing onto paper is technically slightly more difficult but possible if particularly wanted.
Beginners will start making paper stencils of their own designs and learning how to print onto fabric – experimenting with repeating patterns etc. If appropriate students can then go on to other more complicated types of stencil-making. Small amounts of basic white cotton material are provided – students can bring their own for special projects – tablecloths, curtains etc. White t-shirts and cotton bags are available to buy at cost price.
This is an art class for people of all levels and abilities – from young beginners; professional artists - to the elderly and people with disabilities. Suitable for everybody -many regulars are from local day centres or residential homes, who come along with support workers . Many students have gone on to buy their own screen-printing equipment and Becky can provide stockists and advise on this. Becky is very experienced at running integrated classes and places great emphasis on people doing as much themselves as they are able and creating an enjoyable positive atmosphere in the class. Feel free to come along and have a look and talk to Becky.
