Gallery 1 Oriel 1
Tall, airy and spacious, Gallery 1 is proving to be a major powerhouse for the visual arts in the region. The exhibitions shown here encompass a wide range of contemporary art practice, the programme reflecting varied subjects and mediums from the World of art, from David Bailey's Birth of the Cool to Sebastiao Salgado's poignant portraits The Children of Exodus, and Laura Fords intriguing Great Indoors to work from Artists from Wales at the Venice Bienale. Presentation and interpretation of the exhibition programme is of central concern, with straightforward introductory text, a public access computer point, plus changing activities in the resource area of Gallery 1.
