By Antonin Artaud
Following their hugely successful main house production of ‘The 39 Steps’ Castaway return to the Studio to exemplify the diversity of their work with Artaud’s controversial classic from his ‘Theatre of Cruelty’ catalogue. Although written in 1925 – way ahead of its time, Jet of Blood did not receive the critical acclaim it deserved until Peter Brook revived it in 1964 for the famous Theatre of Cruelty season with the RSC.
Castaway continue their excellent reputation for presenting true cutting edge theatre with a swashbuckling, cut and thrust rendition of Artaud’s study of “the evil that men do”. Not without dark humour and accompanied by a crunching soundtrack, this promises to be a provocative evening!
