Snoutology for Beginners and Flossie & Jet
A double-bill of attention grabbing theatre
Pithy, topsy-turvy and utterly engaging, Hijinx Theatre presents two brand new one-act comic gems that will meddle with your perspective on life and make you question the way you see things. Each performed by one actor with learning disabilities andone without, these intimate twohanders reveal a spark of truth, imagination and comedy at close quarters that will stay with you for days. The dramas are part of a new collection of five short theatre pieces, or ‘pods’, on tour in 2014.
Meet the creative teams behind each of the dramas at a postshow discussion immediately after the second show.
Flossie & Jet
Meet Flossie and Jet. Sisters of faded grandeur who have fallen from stately home to state of homelessness. Curious at the world they find themselves in, while still clinging to the remnants of a lost era, Flossie and Jet are on a journey to find a new place to live. Somewhere not too small, somewhere warm, somewhere they can settle. Partial to a picnic or a trip to the seaside, and always keen to meet the locals, the genteel sisters may just take you by surprise in this beautiful and poignant walkabout mask show. Featuring Welsh clown Clare Parry Jones and Down syndrome actor Kirsty Rosser. 25 mins running time
Snoutology for Beginners
A topsy-turvy seminar for humans, led by dogs on how to use your snout!
‘In today's seminar we will be studying Snoutology. That's the ‘ology’ of Snout, in case you're wondering. Or for the less intuitive amongst you, how to use your snout more effectively.’
Join two accomplished dogs in their acclaimed training workshop for humans who have 'lost their senses'. With quirky animation, audience participation and groundbreaking 4D technology, this is bonkers observational comedy of the canine kind. Featuring the extraordinary Jimmy Whiteaker and Asperger’s actor Lyndsey Foster. 35 mins running time
