Company: TFTS Department, Aberystwyth University
Devised by Jill Greenhalgh – Performed at 'The Foundry', in the Parry Williams Building (adjacent to the Arts Centre).
"The starting point for our performance was a research into the fragile and agile lives and works of some leading artists, painters, poets, musicians, architects, photographers and theatre makers in the first half of the 20th century; the birth of ‘moderism’ or ‘modern art.’ In parallel we explored the fragility of our own humanness and we bring you a collage of ideas and responses, evocations and questions that have haunted us in this collaborative endeavour."
This production is one of five projects led by lecturer/practitioners in The Department of Theatre, Film and Television Studies at Aberystwyth University working with and mentoring final-year Drama and Theatre studies students. The companies began rehearsing their pieces, which include a range of devised and text-based works, towards the end of September. Through a combination of directed sessions and guided independent learning, the companies will present their final projects during a festival of work performed in the last two weeks of term.
