Welsh Music awards line-up announced
Organisers of the Welsh language music awards night, ‘Gwobrau’r Selar’, have announced the names of the acts that will be performing at the event in Aberystwyth on 15th February.
Amongst those making up the line-up will be three of the scene’s biggest bands at the moment, Yr Ods, Candelas and Sŵnami.
There will also be an opportunity for some of the last year’s biggest breakthrough acts including Kizzy Crawford, Casi Wyn and Yr Eira, along with last year’s winner of the ‘Best Breakthrough Act’ awards, Bromas.
The event, described as a ‘party to celebrate the success of the musical year’, is hosted for the second time by Welsh contemporary music Magazine ‘Y Selar’, and will be held at Aberystwyth Arts Centre on Saturday 15th February.
Y Selar have also announced ticket details for the event, which are now available for purchase.
The tickets are currently available to pre-order at an early bird price of £8 from online Welsh music retailer, Sadwrn.com. They will also be available at local outlets which are listed on Y Selar’s website – http://www.y-selar.com
“The aim of the event is to give artists and their fans an opportunity to celebrate the success of the last musical year” said Owain Schiavone of Y Selar.
“We’ve tried to fit in as many of 2013’s busiest acts onto the line-up. We may well add another couple of acts later on as well – we want to create a festival atmosphere.”
“The artists are important, but the fans of those artists are even more important for the sustainability of the scene, and we want as many people as possible to come and enjoy the event. I expect tickets to sell fast after the success and buzz of last year’s event. ”
Further details about the awards and the event are available from the magazine’s website www.y-selar.com and the events Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/events/798474430166432/
