Artists in Residence: Kate Street

My work is inspired by words, phrases, stories and places. I am drawn to texts and images that express the fragile and contradictory nature of desire: the interlacing of longing and loss, compulsion and revulsion, consummation and dissipation. Through the use of animated drawing and sculpture I aim to translate the seemly everyday into a series of hallucinatory encounters.
