Artists in Residence: Rabab Ghazoul

Rabab Ghazoul was born in Iraq and lives in Wales. She is a visual artist and has been living in Cardiff since 1993. This background of experiencing these two very different cultures informs her approach as a social observer and commentator. Her practice combines text, film, site specific and altered-objects creating installations that question the values and hierarchies of society. She often uses text and narrative - as in a series of emails on t-shirts from members of the public invited to explore Iraqi cities beneath their more familiar war.
