Artists in Residence: Riikka Makikoskela

As a sculptor I'm interested in real, concrete experiences in certain space and time. In my opinion artistic working is thinking by making, and often by questioning. I'm usually seeking for alternative ways of being, acting, and living. For me the choice of the material and the way of using it are significant, because both can carry meanings.

Fel cerflunydd mae gennyf ddiddordeb mewn profiadau concrid, real mewn gofod ac amser penodol. Yn fy marn i mae gweithio artistig yn golygu meddwl trwy wneud, ac yn aml trwy gwestiynu. Fel arfer 'rwy'n edrych am ffyrdd gwahanol o fod, o weithredu, o fyw. I mi mae'r dewis o ddefnydd a'r ffordd o'i ddefnyddio yn bwysig, oherwydd gall y ddau beth fod ag ystyr arwyddocaol.
