Scraping a living as a porter around the central market in Paraguay’s capital Ascunsion, young Victor gets the job of transporting seven boxes to an undisclosed location. But as the night wears on and Victor dodges and dives to keep his dangerous payload one step ahead of rival carriers, gangsters and the police, he realizes he may have taken on more than he bargained for. Paraguay’s answer to City of God is a tense thriller full of black humour with many an unexpected twist that makes atmospheric use of the squalid, overcrowded labyrinth of streets to give you a real feel for life lived on the edge.
“This Paraguayan thriller, featuring almost as many twists and turns as the market in which it is set, is a fast-moving, audience-pleaser” Eye for Film
