Designed by Thomas Heatherwick, one of the UK's top designers, the Creative Units Project houses sixteen studios designed to accommodate a wide range of creative businesses, arts development agencies, artists and craft workers. The mix of businesses is an outstanding feature of this development with both new and established occupants interacting together in a creative and stimulating environment to realise thier economic and creative potential. The Units are adjacent to Aberystwyth Arts Centre on the University Campus. Facilities include: 18 single storey studios (DDA compliant) which average 35sqm each and make use of natural light with skylights and glazed ends to provide views over the Arts Centre. Each unit contains a disabled toilet, litchen area and foyer. Parking is available ad there is pedestrian access to the facilities of the Arts Centre including its performance and exhibition spaces, award winning cafes, bars and shops. The Creative Units are availble for rent to individual artists and arts businesses. Wedi’i ddylunio gan Thomas Heatherwick, un o brif ddylunwyr y DU, mae’r Prosiect Unedau Creadigol yn cynnwys un ar bymtheg o stiwdios sy’n addas ar gyfer amrywiaeth eang o fusnesau creadigol, asiantaethau datblygu’r celfyddydau, artistiaid a chrefftwyr. Mae’r cymysgedd o fusnesau yn nodwedd bwysig o’r datblygiad hwn gyda’r newydd a’r mwy sefydledig yn gweithio gyda’i gilydd mewn amgylchedd creadigol a symbylol er mwyn cyflawni eu potensial economaidd a chreadigol. Mae’r cyfleusterau yn cynnwys: 18 stiwdio unllawr (yn cydfynd â rheolau’r DDA) sydd ar gyfartaledd yn 35 medr sgwâr yr un. Maent yn gwneud defnydd o olau naturiol gyda ffenestri yn y to ac ar yr ochrau sy’n edrych allan dros Ganolfan y Celfyddydau. Mae pob uned yn cynnwys toiled i’r anabl, cegin a chyntedd. Mae ‘na barcio wrth law ac mae’r unedau o fewn pellter cerdded byr i holl gyfleusterau’r Ganolfan gan gynnwys caffis, bar, siopau a gofod arddangos a pherfformio. Mae’r Unedau Creadigol ar gael i’w rhentu i artistiaid unigol a busnesau celf.
