Join us for a wonderful evening showcasing exceptional young performers in this special evening to raise funds for Friends of Musicfest and Friends of the Arts Centre!
We are very pleased to welcome pianist Isata Kanneh-Mason and her sister, pianist and violinist Konya, to the Arts Centre, to showcase their astonishing musical prowess.
Isata is twenty years old and is an undergraduate at The Royal Academy of Music, having been awarded the prestigious Sir Elton John Scholarship. She performed with Elton John in Los Angeles in 2013, having played for him at The Royal Academy. She was in the Piano Category Final of The BBC Young Musician 2014, winning The Walter Todds Bursary for the most promising musician before the Grand Final (a competition her brother went on to win in 2016!). Konya is 15 and achieved Grade 8 Distinction in the piano at age 11, and in the violin at age 12. She attends the Royal Academy of Music, Junior Academy, in London. Together they will present a programme of music by Chopin, Beethoven, Haydn, Ginsberg, Faure and Debussy.
There is of course also a wealth of talented young performers in Ceredigion, and audiences will have an opportunity to enjoy a performance from members of the Arts Centre’s Dance School as they present a song and dance routine from the musical ‘Annie’. Anyone who saw their first performance in the ‘A Night at the Movies’ show back in the summer will know we’re in for a treat!
And if that were not enough, the evening also includes two course meal (hot buffet and sweet) which will be served in the Arts Centre, plus a complimentary glass of mulled wine - or spiced apple for those who prefer a non-alchoholic tipple.
So come along and join us, for a lovely pre-Christmas gathering of Friends new and old!
